CVAA and The Crossing, Richford’s Landmark Restaurant, are partnering to provide Meals on Wheels and Community Meals for Richford and area seniors beginning January 4th, 2010.

Meals on Wheels is a critical service, in making sure seniors are safe in their homes, while providing nutritious meals that help maintain their health and independence. The Crossing will prepare meals five days a week to be delivered by volunteers in the community who donate their time and mileage. 

Seniors age 60 and over, will be offered a special menu at the restaurant, which would include a beverage (coffee, tea or milk), an entrée and dessert, for a $4 donation.  This Senior Menu option will be available five days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  There is no tax on the meal, but ask you to remember the wait staff, as tip is not included. 

On Wednesdays, seniors will be welcomed to meet for their regular morning card games at 11:30 and order off the senior menu at their leisure.  We invite you to please join in, as there is no need to call ahead.

On Friday January 22nd, The Crossing will be hosting a Special Community Meal for seniors, at noon.   The menu is Roast Pork with apple stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, buttered carrots, whole wheat rolls and apple cake, plus a beverage, for a  $4 donation.  Reservations are a must for the special meal, so please call Heather Cota at 752-6158 for more information or to reserve your place.
